Q-Chem Training and Development have had visited QP training centre to promote itself and explain Q-Chem-way to TPP trainees who are at QP training centre. Four of the trainees showed interest to join Q-Chem as sponsored TPP trainees and later work for Q-Chem as operators or maintenance technicians. Hassan Al-Yousuf, Faisal Al-Meer, Hamad Al-Marri and Abdulhadi Al-Marri spoke to the trainees in turns encouraging them to join our organization.

On the same day that we visited QP training centre we also paid a visit to CNA-Q TPP students who do not have a sponsor company as yet. Although we started the meeting with some glitches (communication type problems from CNA-Q side which caused us delays) but at the end that was corrected and we were able to deliver our presentation. Mr. Omar Al-Jaber of Environmental was present and he met with some students inviting them to be part of our organization.
On March 8th, Q-Chem held an Engineering day at Qatar University to inform QU students about the existing and exciting opportunities in Q-Chem which may suit fresh engineers’ graduates. Dan Combs, Nabeel Al-Saadi, Mostafa Ahmed, Todd Williamson, Naeem Malak, Juzar Zaveri, Abdulla Al-AbdulJabbar, Steve Jackson, Robin Ullrich, Hassan Al-Yousuf and George Shahid attended the day. Don, Nabeel and Robin spoke to the general assembly about Q-Chem safety standard, its products and “tents of operations”. After that the group went into break-out sessions where every business group attended a break-out session according to the speciality. The day was a great success and many students showed interest particularly female student from industrial engineering.

On March 14th Qatar National career Fair kicked off. Q-Chem has a nicely done booth located at the Energy Village within the Exhibition Centre. A team made of mainly Qatari employees attended the booth in two shifts per day for five days; special thanks to those who helped and gave their time and energy for the fair.

TAMU held its annual career day on March 13th, Q-Chem took part on the fair and played a good role of explaining the Petrochemical business to TAMU students.
CNA-Q had its annual career and education day on March 31st; Q-Chem has participated in the fair.

For the second time Q-Chem took part on CMU career day. CMU organized the fair extremely well and had all the students CV’s saved on a flash drive to make easier for exhibitors and students alike.

Q-Chem paid a visit to QITS (Qatar Independent Technical School) on April 13th and met with year-eleven
and year-twelve students. A group of nine employees presented the company among them was Nabeel Al-Saadi, TPP Students and others from maintenance,
Q-Chem II and Training & Development. Around two hundred students attended the presentation which was made up of few short presentations. Nabeel
presented the Safety at Q-Chem and TPP students spoke about the importance of training and development in the initial start of one’s practical life.
Maintenance group highlighted that the importance of instrumentation at the plant and how one can become successful (Naif used himself as an example)
and get up to the level of an engineering degree
