Qatar Career Fair 2009 got under way at Doha Exhibition Centre on April 12. Opened by HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the five-day fair aimed to offer Qatari students a window of recruitment, training, and sponsorship opportunities. More than 100 leading Qatari companies, financial institutions, universities and multi-national establishments operating in the state are taking part in the fair.
Among those who attended the inaugural ceremony included Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and
Industry HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah, sheikhs and ministers.
Q-Chem pavilion was setup at Energy Village which included other companies
in Oil & Gas. The GM Ahmed Al Emadi, Administration Manger, Dr Said Boshorbak, Plant Operations Manager Dan Coombs, Maintenance Manager Nabeel
Al Saadi, Head of Training Robin Ulrich, Head of Public Relations Nasser Al Naemi, and PR team attended the opening ceremony. HH the Heir

During the fair, visitors and job seekers were presented
with company’s profile and opportunity available in recruitment, training, development and recruitment at Q-Chem. At Q-Chem pavilion the visitors
were given company brochures which included detailed information on the company and career benefits. More than a thousand Resumes were collected
and the aspirants were able to post their applications online through a dedicated website link- created purposely for this event.
Q-Chem staff
from various departments led by Training department, manning our booth, did tremendous work during five days of the exhibition representing and
showcasing Q-Chem and its Q-Chem II and RLOC ongoing projects.
The country’s energy sector offers unique structured career opportunities for Qataris, the Deputy Premier HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah said. Structured career opportunities have been developed over many years, Al-Attiyah said at the 5th annual Qatarization Review Meeting of the Energy and Industry sector yesterday. Al-Attiyah thanked various educational institutions in the country and government ministries and agencies for their support of the Strategic Qatarization Plan. Al-Attiyah honored three companies at the sector’s first annual Qatarization awards presentation. Qatar Shell GTL (for supporting Qatarization) and Q-Chem (support for training and development). Qatar University (QU) and Qatar Chemical Company (Q-Chem) announced on Thursday 18 June the winners of the Protective Workwear for Women Design Competition. The winners and participants were awarded appreciation plaques and certificates. (read more)
The yearly Qatari town hall meeting which involves Q-Chem management and the all nationals. The meeting will be held early in October.
