Q-Chem has implemented various development programmes for Qatari's, some of these are:
- Sponsored Students at Qatar University
- Sponsored Students at CNAQ
- Summer School Programmes
- Technical Preparatory Programme - QP / CNA-Q coordinated programme, where Q-Chem provides the workplace learning component. Diagram 1 shows the detailed flow process of this programme as outlined by QP.

- Tailored Made Programme for Marketing
- CPD - Continued Professional Development - For those Qatari's who are already in substantive positions within the organization and who may require additional skills in order to stay current in their particular field of expertise OR to progress to more senior levels of the Company.
In terms of our goals, each Qatari Developee - whether senior staff or non-senior staff - should have a development / progression plan. As mentioned above, these plans are intended to develop Qatari's either to their target positions or to prepare them for advancement within the organization. Each plan is tailored to suit the individual learning pathway. As Q-Chem is rapidly expanding with two new sites that will be ready to be commissioned in 2009, there are many and diverse opportunities available to Qatari's within the Company. Diagram 1 shows a broad outline of a typical development path way for operators within Q-Chem. It is our goal to have development pathways like this mapped out for all key positions within Q-Chem

As part of the development plans, reviews are carried out with every Qatari at least twice a year together with the line manager, plant manager and the On The Job Training Coordinator. These reviews are intended to identify gaps in the development plan, to review progress being made and to agree and effect any changes that may take place in the career plan of the Qatari. All discussions are documented and action plans carried out.
