Doha, 19 September 2016

Qatar Chemical Company Ltd. (Q-Chem), a leader in petrochemical production, has said it is supporting charity projects in Qatar that will alleviate the suffering of a number of people nationwide.

The Q-Chem initiative comes after signing an agreement with Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN) by which the company will finance the purchase of wheelchair lifts. The agreement was signed by Saeed Rashid Al Kaabi, Chief Administration Officer for Q-Chem and Amir Al Mulla, Executive Director for QSRSN. According to the signed agreement, specialized lifts will be mounted on vehicles to ease movement for disabled peoples and enable them to move their wheelchairs without much help from others.

Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi, Chief Executive Office for Q-Chem said "It's part of Q-Chem's strategic objectives to extend a helping hand to charity organizations such as Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs. We are honored to partner with the Society to serve our communities." He added: "The Q-Chem's move is part of the corporate social responsibility concept and our commitment towards good citizenship. Helping disabled persons not only assists this segment of society in meeting their aspirations in life, but also strengthens social bonds and is the very essence of our cultural foundation."

Shaikh Thani Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of QSRSN, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Q-Chem management and its cooperation with the Society to sponsor noble causes. He stressed that that the target audience would enormously benefit from this donation and definitely improve health conditions."
